The historic Australian Fine China factory was established in 1921 as the Calyx Porcelain Works and manufactured commercial and domestic china. In 2006, the business closed and Subiaco Redevelopment Authority (SRA) commenced redevelopment of the site. The new Australian Fine China (AFC) precinct is located at 576 Hay Street, Subiaco and is bordered by Hay Street, Price Street and Darbon Crescent. The four hectare site nestled in the heart of Subiaco will comprise of multi-level residential apartments, and multi-purpose retail and commercial buildings.
ETC were able to include numerous innovative design solutions in this project including state-of-the-art LED street lighting, colour changing fibre optic, LED underwater and artwork lighting and LED wall washing to the Heritage Structure. Feature lighting is choreographed and scene set via a fully programmed Control System. Minimising maintenance and ongoing operational costs to the Local Authority was a major consideration and ETC have actively liaised and coordinated equipment selections to gain the necessary approvals and support from the Local Authority (City of Subiaco).
