Whilst the preparedness to embrace the Smart Cities innovation is significantly gaining traction with IOT and diverse platforms and applications available. ETC has been leading the way on Smart Cities since early 2016 when they designed the first shared fibre optic Smart City LAN for Scarborough Foreshore Redevelopment for MRA. The 33ha foreshore precinct site wide fibre network designed for Scarborough was one of the first of its kind for urban redevelopment. More recently ETC have completed Smart Citites technologies at Mindeerup Piazza South Perth, Midland Junction Redevelopment, Broome Chinatown and Cecil Ave Canning. Smart Cities technologies provided by ETC include:
- CCTV security monitoring
- Lighting control and management
- Dynamic and projection lighting
- Audio and AV Systems
- Water play and misting control
- Public WiFi and location based analytics reporting
- Energy metering, management billing system
- Irrigation control
The fibre network consists of multiple nodes throughout the development with fibre or Cat 6 cabling to most light poles and provision to expand future Smart City technologies such as digital signage, parking and waste management, tourism and events, VOIP, smart sensors, AV services and more. The Scarborough master plan includes a future three precincts totaling approximately 60ha. ETC has since designed similar Smart City technology for Rockingham Beach Foreshore Precinct and Koombana Bay Bunbury due for completion 2018.
